Hello

"...some reports of what your prayers have done."

Posted on January 4, 2010 at 6:17 AM

Generally this is where we have requests for needs worldwide, but we thought to close out 2009 we would share some reports of what your prayers have done.

From Allan and Georgene Shalm (Pakistan/Afghanistan):

We write this letter with great thanksgiving in our hearts. Thank you to each and every one of you who prayed for Pakistan and the Christian community on Christmas Day. We can report to you that there was not one single attack on any Christian church throughout the entire country during the Christmas celebrations.

Two evenings ago we visited one of our pastors in Rawalpindi for dinner and he told us that his church was absolutely packed with worshippers and that they felt completely safe. Several other pastors called or emailed us to let us know that their services were well attended, with a sweet presence of the Lord in every meeting.

There is no doubt in our minds that thousands of angelic beings were dispatched to this nation because of the intercessory prayers of God's people. As well, On Christmas evening, Pastors Khalid from Islamabad and Javaid Masih from Wah, were interviewed on the radio for two hours, where they had opportunity to share the Christmas story and the plan of salvation.

Later that same evening Brother Khalid was interviewed for one hour live on another program, and just before Christmas, Brothers Khalid, Shalm and Curtis Scott were interviewed on a country-wide radio program. Later on the three technicians, all Muslims, asked for special prayer. We rejoice for each one of these tremendous opportunities that are opening before us even during a time of tension and chaos in the county.

From Jack Coolbaugh (Thailand):

Local Thai Church Outreach Brings 600 Buddhists to Hear About Jesus!

On December 11-12 there was an incredible outreach by a small local UPC of Thailand church. This small local church with help from many ministers and lay members from churches throughout Thailand distributed tracts and invitations one-on-one to Buddhist families in villages surrounding the church.

As a result of the outreach to thousands of people in the area, over 600 Buddhist people came to the Saturday evening service to learn about this wonderful God, Jesus, who can help them with their problems and infirmities. There were several healings and one person at the service publicly witnessed to abandoning his former religion to follow the Lord. And this is just the initial fruit of what is coming in that area as a result of that outreach - Praise the Lord!
